Friend,

One full year has passed since George Floyd's family lost their father, their brother, and their partner, like far too many families before him.

One month ago his killer, disgraced police officer Derek Chauvin, was finally held accountable in court, but the list of Black people killed by police who used excessive force has only grown longer.

Violence at the hands of the police is a pervasive issue in our country. It's one of America's generational curses that must be broken, and one verdict -- or a handful more -- won't change that. We have to keep the pressure on to enact systemic change.

The Collective Future Team is calling on the United States Senate to bring the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2020 to a vote. To join our call for expansive, historic policing reform, add your name now.

Every day the Senate hesitates to act is a day we have to fear for our lives and our children's lives at the hands of a corrupt and racist justice system. Progress was made last month when a corrupt officer was brought to justice, but we have to keep making progress to see real systemic change in our country.

Our team is working every single day to #BuildBlackPoliticalPower to fight for a just system and empower our communities. You can be a part of our fight right now by signing on to our petition to demand action:

Will you add your name? Call on the United States Senate to bring the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act to a vote without any more delay.

Thank you,

Stefanie
