ENDOWMENT FOR MIDDLE EAST TRUTH PRESENTS

For the last 26 years, there have been several mantras that have constantly been repeated, over and over again, reflexively and without questioning, that have taken on the aura of  certitude and rigidity within certain foreign policy circles. One is that the Israelis are solely responsible for the illegal building in Judea and Samaria. A second is that Israel cannot remain democracy and a Jewish state unless it quickly withdraws from the disputed territories and makes room for a Palestinian state, and a third is that “land for peace” is an excellent, and the only viable, solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

On October 17th, at 11 o’clock a.m. in a Senate office building, EMET will be hosting a panel of renowned experts who will discuss three different aspects of the Israeli-Palestinian dispute.

Here to examine these mantras are:

The Award Winning, New York Times best-Selling Author and humanitarian, Edwin Black, will be discussing “Who is Behind the Illegal Building in Area C?”

The widely popular columnist and international foreign policy expert, former Minister of Congressional Affairs at the Israeli Embassy, Ambassador Yoram Ettinger, will be discussing “Is the Palestinian womb a great demographic threat against the Jewish state?” Do Palestinian demographics necessitate immediate land withdrawal?"

And EMET’s own Founder and President, Sarah Stern will be discussing “How has the land for peace formulation been working out, so far?”

Edwin Black  is the award-winning, New York Times bestselling international investigative author of 200 award-winning editions in 20 languages in 190 countries, as well as scores of newspaper and magazine articles in the leading publications of the United States, Europe and Israel. With more than 1.6 million books in print, his work focuses on human rights, genocide and hate, corporate criminality and corruption, governmental misconduct, academic fraud, philanthropy abuse, oil addiction, alternative energy and historical investigation. Editors have submitted Black's work thirteen times for Pulitzer Prize nomination, and in recent years he has been the recipient of a series of top editorial awards. He has also contributed to a number of anthologies worldwide.

Yoram Ettinger is an Israeli demographer, diplomat, and right-wing activist.

Ettinger is known for advancing the thesis that the Palestinian Authority over-counts Palestinian numbers and fertility, and that Jews will remain a majority within the former territory of Mandate Palestine west of the Jordan River. Ettinger's demographic forecasts are widely cited by Israeli right-wing politicians in support of annexation of the West Bank, but have been contested by experts.

From 1989 to 1992, Ettinger was the minister for congressional affairs at the Israeli embassy to the United States.

Sarah Stern is founder and president of the Endowment for Middle East Truth (EMET), the foremost pro-Israel, pro-American think tank on Capitol Hill. Her regional expertise, hands-on knowledge of the issues, and personal relationships with Members of Congress, have enabled her to shape U.S. policy towards the Middle East over the past two decades. She advises top policymakers regularly on issues ranging from Iranian nuclear proliferation to negotiations with the Palestinian Authority.

Sarah is the author of the highly acclaimed books Saudi Arabia and the Global Islamic Terrorist Network: America and the West’s Fatal Embrace (Palgrave MacMillan) and Cherished Illusions, (Balfour Books), as well as hundreds of articles that have appeared in various media outlets

Sarah has worked closely with congressional leaders from both sides of the aisle to educate policymakers about the Middle East and the joint threats that America and Israel face in the region. “Under the leadership of Sarah Stern, EMET has been truly a light in the darkness, in the trenches, defending the truth,” said Israel’s Ambassador Ron Dermer.
