Last week, Tony Evers said he was “strongly considering” continuing the federal unemployment benefits that are incentivizing Wisconsin workers to stay home, even though our state’s unemployment rate has recovered and businesses are begging for people to return to work.

As Tony Evers refuses to join the 23 states who have opted out of these now unnecessary additional federal benefits, despite the fact that Wisconsin is experiencing a labor shortage, Main Street businesses across our state are struggling to remain competitive and operational as they try to find people willing to return to the workforce. This is not how we rebuild our economy.
