Thanks to an outpouring of support from our online community, we were in first or second place throughout the voting period. And although we didn’t win the Webby Award, we are so inspired and motivated by what this moment means.
For any organization, it’s an honor to be a Webby Nominee. But for farm animals to come this far is incredibly significant. There were nearly 13,500 entries—from all fifty U.S. states and over 70 countries!—yet The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences selected Farm Sanctuary as in the top 5 in the world for the category of “Animals” in Social Media.
This Webby nomination affirms the power of these stories to move and engage people on a massive scale and implies a cultural shift in the way society views farm animals.
We owe a huge thank you to our fans and followers who help us bring visibility to farm animals every day. These animals are often neglected, but together, as an online community, we can amplify their stories and help end their exploitation.
We believe knowledge, empathy, and experience are valuable catalysts for change. If you haven’t already, join us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter—and most importantly, share the stories that move you with your friends and family. By sharing their stories, you’ll continue to play an important role in creating a more compassionate world for all living creatures.
Thank you!
