As we head to court, here's how you can show your support for trans rights:

Hi ACLU Supporter --

Aimee Stephens had worked in funeral services for nearly 30 years when her boss abruptly fired her -- not because of concerns about her job performance, but just because she is transgender.

This story is a heartbreaking case of sex-based discrimination in the workplace. That’s why we’re at the Supreme Court today, defending Aimee in a case involving the civil rights of trans people for the very first time.

ACLU Supporter, you have a part in this historic fight. Take the pledge to show your support for Aimee -- we must show SCOTUS that trans people belong.

Decades ago, Aimee got into funeral services because she sought to comfort people in a time of great need. She was no stranger herself to times of difficulty -- her own struggles in coming to terms with her gender identity caused her despair and fear that she would never get to live her life as the person she is.

After hearing her coworkers make derogatory remarks, Aimee felt she couldn’t face them any longer, so she wrote a brave letter explaining that she is a transgender woman. Rather than face acceptance, she was fired. Aimee contacted the ACLU. Then she sued for discrimination.

Earlier this year a federal court ruled for Aimee, but her employer appealed and now we’re back in court -- the Supreme Court, this time -- to uphold our argument that discrimination against transgender people is a form of sex discrimination, and that it violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

We need all the support we can get as we head to SCOTUS. Here’s how you can help:

Pledge to support trans rights as we take Aimee’s fight to SCOTUS today. Your support is more vital than ever -- and could be the difference it takes to win back our rights, once and for all.

Thanks for joining this fight,
