Hi John,

To protect environmental progress, we need to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard. Because when our voice is silenced, concerns about clean air and water are ignored in favor of big polluter interests.

Right now there is a national attack on our freedom to vote. As we speak, hurdles are being built — making it increasingly difficult for us to advocate for the kinds of equitable, fair and durable environmental solutions we need. There is a way for us to stop this though: The For the People Act.

The For the People act is arguably the most consequential people-empowering legislation since the Civil Rights Act of 1965, protecting the rights of all voters.

Please join us on Tuesday, June 8th at 7:00pm ET for a Digital Townhall with organizations in the environmental community regarding this legislation and how you can support this important movement.

What: The For the People Act Digital Townhall
When: Tuesday, June 8
Time: 7:00pm ET/4pm PT
Where: Virtually

The freedom to vote is fundamental to democracy. But in the last few months, several states, including Arizona, Florida and Georgia have pursued ways to restrict this freedom with voter suppression laws.

These state legislatures have sought to erect barriers that silence our voices, especially communities of color and other historically disenfranchised Americans, by passing harmful legislation to make it more difficult to vote freely, safely, and equally.

Join us on June 8th to hear from state leaders who have been front and center in these fights and learn how you can join the thousands of voices across the country in calling for the passage of the For the People Act, S.1. The time is now, with a deadline fast approaching.

Let’s stand together for our freedom to vote and our ability to use our voice in our democracy.

Thank you
