CNN: “Republicans fear January 6 probe could undercut 2022 midterm message”

It’s really troubling -- 175 Republican members voted against establishing an independent, bipartisan commission to investigate the January 6th attack at the Capitol and to prevent future acts of domestic terrorism and violence in our country.

Why would anyone be opposed to protecting our democracy from extremist attacks?

Because Washington Republicans are afraid the probe could be politically damaging for them and jeopardize their upcoming elections.

Washington Republicans’ loyalty is to Donald Trump and his Big Lie about the 2020 election -- not the Constitution they swore an oath to uphold. I take my oath seriously, and I’m as committed to protecting our democracy as I was on day one, but the National GOP is focused on unseating me. I need supporters like you on my side -- will you add your name and officially endorse me for re-election?
