Governor Pete Ricketts just
announced that he is vetoing three bills. He needs our help ensuring
that Republicans in the Legislature stand by their principles and
sustain his vetoes.
Two of these are liberal expansions of the welfare
system. LB 108 and 306 would grow taxpayer-funded benefits and
discourage Nebraskans from working. The third bill is a state takeover
of the management of the Omaha Public Schools' pension system, which is
underfunded by over $800 million. This could ultimately lead to the
state taking on the liability for their underfunded pensions.
Governor
Ricketts has stood up for Nebraskans against the Biden administration to
protect our conservative values time and time again. Now he is standing
up for us again, but this time against the liberal policies being pushed
in Lincoln that are at odds with our values.
