Hi John,

I'm proud and excited to share with you today that my friend, Charles
Booker, is thinking about running for U.S. Senate to represent Kentucky
and take on Rand Paul in 2022. Charles and I both ran for office last year
during the 2020 primary elections for Kentucky and New York, respectively.
It was both our first times running for office, and I had the privilege of
getting to know him during that time.

Charles is a remarkable leader in his community, and I can't think of a
more perfect person to replace Rand Paul and work to bring some
much-needed, progressive change to Kentucky.

To Rand Paul, being a U.S. Senator means peddling absurd conspiracy
theories and misinformation about the pandemic. It means playing political
games and putting the lives of Kentuckians at risk, time and time again. 

Charles Booker is the exact opposite of Rand Paul. He knows the struggle
of everyday Kentuckians, because he's lived them. He's ready to deliver
leadership who will listen to, fight for, and stand with Kentuckians.
Charles would be an incredible colleague in the U.S. Senate, and I know
he'd help us get things done for our progressive agenda.

John, Rand is
fully aware that Charles is thinking about challenging him — and he's made
it clear he's not going down without a fight. He's gearing up to spend big
and utilize every powerful friend and political ally he has to protect his
seat. So we need to get Charles' back and show up with strong grassroots
support.
