Hi Team,
I’m back with another campaign update because it matters to me that you know where we stand leading up to the election. Since the last time I wrote to you, we’ve hit fundraising goals, passed important legislation, and even got a new Republican opponent.
Here’s what we’ve been up to:
CAMPAIGN UPDATES
A third Republican opponent has filed to run against me. We now know that not only did he just move to Nevada from New Jersey — where he ran for Congress in 2020 — but he also authored a xenophobic blogpost.
I’ll say it time and time again: hatred isn’t welcome in this district, or anywhere across Nevada for that matter. Our campaign will continue to rise above the division that the Republican Party wants so badly to sow. But, they don’t know that we’re stronger than that and will remain united in our cause to help the people of NV-03.
Let’s get to the good news — I’m excited to announce that we met last month’s fundraising goal! So many strong supporters like yourself have stepped up to the plate to chip into this campaign. I couldn’t be more proud to have you by my side — I know this campaign has some of the best grassroots support in the country. Thank you for your support.
POLICY UPDATES
President Biden’s initiative, the American Families Plan, has overwhelming support from a majority of Americans. Here’s how research has shown that it will positively impact Nevadan families:
- 83,000 new jobs in Nevada in childcare and prekindergarten industries
- Universal preschool for three- and four-year-olds in Nevada
- Two free years of community college for our students
- Groundbreaking paid family and medical leave program
- Tax credits to drastically cut child poverty in Nevada
I’ll have President Biden’s back when the American Families Plan comes to a vote in the House just as I did when we passed the American Rescue Plan.
AT HOME IN NEVADA
Just recently, the National Teacher of the Year was announced to be Nevada’s own Juliana Urtubey! Juliana is the first Nevadan to receive this award and represents the very best of our teachers across the state.
Also, under Governor Sisolak’s leadership, Nevada has officially hit 2 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered. This is a monumental milestone for our vaccination efforts at home, but make no mistake, we still have a long way to go. Now that the vaccine is available to all adults, it’s critical that we do what we can to help our neighbors, family, and friends get vaccinated.
I know this was a big update. With my campaign team so hard at work, I just can’t help but share the work we’re proud to be doing.
Thank you so much for your support.
Talk soon,
- Susie Lee
