The overwhelming majority of Americans want a full and transparent investigation into the facts and circumstances that led to the insurrection against our government on January 6th. But Republican leaders just came out against the bipartisan commission investigating the facts of the Capitol riot.

Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell are bending over backwards to pretend NOTHING happened that day, and multiple Republican Representatives are going as far as calling members of the mob “patriots” and “tourists” — not insurrectionists.

Instead of working with Democrats to discover the truth of what happened that day, Republicans are instead choosing to shield themselves and Donald Trump from any accountability for the violent insurrection their rhetoric and lies inspired on January 6.
