John,
Americans have ranked healthcare as the most critical issue in the 2020 election, just like it was in 2018 and nearly every election in recent memory.
There is a reason why voters across the board are concerned - the rising cost of healthcare is killing Americans. Millions of Americans can't afford their healthcare, and many don't get the care they need due to the high costs. The way it stands, healthcare is not accessible to the average American family.
The United States is supposed to be the most prosperous nation in the world - so why can't we afford to make sure our citizens are properly cared for? Of 33 developed countries, 32 have universal healthcare. The exception is us.

I've worked in the healthcare industry at a long-term care facility, and I've seen the effect lack of care has on the elderly. Long-term elderly care has turned into a full-blown crisis with care often costing more than $100,000 per person. And the only way to solve this crisis is with a universal, single-payer system.
Healthcare should be a guaranteed right to all. We owe it to our community, our elderly parents, our sick neighbors, and our future generations.
