On May 26th, join a New Deal for Youth Changemakers as we unveil our public campaign and share the New Deal for Youth Policy Platform and Demands. 

Our two-hour interactive program, co-hosted by Changemakers Sixto Cancel and Brenda V. Perez Amador, will consist of both live and pre-recorded content. American Sign Language interpretation will be provided. Highlights include:

  • A panel discussion and Q&A addressing our demands, the urgency of now, and what long-term investments are needed. Changemaker panelists include: 
    • Alexis Obinna, California Youth Connection and Foster Youth in Action
    • Connor Kalahiki, Center for Native American Youth
    • Daniel Rosebud, Opportunity Youth United
    • Freddy Lopez, UndocuMason 
    • Isabel Coronado, Next100

    • Luis Hernandez, The Gathering for Justice
    • Wisdom Cole (moderator), NAACP Youth and College Division 
  • Remarks from key White House staff and Members of Congress. Guests include:
    • Rep. Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) 
    • Cedric Richmond, Senior Advisor and Director of the Office of Public Engagement
    • Rep. Jesús G. “Chuy” Garcia (Il-4) (invited)
  • Music, poetry, art, and motivation from Changemakers, including:  
    • Spoken word by Changemakers Aniya Butler, Chris Sutton, and Oumou Kaba;   
    • An original song by Changemaker Aaron Mack;
    • Guided meditation, dance breaks, and more! 

We will be livestreaming this event across multiple platforms. You can join us on Facebook, YouTube, or on our website. This event will be interactive – be prepared to ask questions, share reflections, stretch, dance, and more. We hope to see you there!
