*AMP to host landmark Capitol Hill briefing on Israel's abuse of US citizens next week*

Dear Supporter,

Recently, AMP's Associate Director of Outreach & Grassroots Organizing Taher Herzallah was denied entry to Palestine by Israeli authorities. Like many Palestinian-Americans, Taher was prevented from visiting his homeland due to Israel's discriminatory policies.

Not only are Palestinian-Americans being denied entry; US citizens of all backgrounds are being harassed by Israel because they exercise their First Amendment right to advocate for Palestinian freedom, justice, and equality.

For more than 40 years, human rights and Arab-American organizations have been documenting this discriminatory treatment by Israeli authorities of US citizens. And, in some cases, Israeli security forces have killed or gravely injured US citizens with no consequences.

*This mistreatment must end*. That's why we're *educating Congress about Israel's abuse of US citizens by hosting a landmark Capitol Hill briefing [ [link removed] ]* next *Wednesday, July 24*.

*Click here to invite your members of Congress to attend [ [link removed] ]*.

Many of you reading this probably have been abused by Israel as well. If you are comfortable doing so, please *share these details with your members of Congress in your letter to them [ [link removed] ]* so that they understand that this abuse is happening to their constituents and that their attendance at this briefing is personally important to you.

At the briefing, we'll be hearing from *Maria LaHood* of the Center for Constitutional Rights who litigated on behalf of two US citizens--Rachel Corrie and Furkan Doğan--killed by Israel; *Emily Siegel* of Eyewitness Palestine who was denied entry; and *Brian Avery*, a US peace activist who was gravely injured by Israeli security forces.

We'll also be launching at this briefing an AMP policy paper on the subject, entitled *Israel's Treatment of US Citizens: Case Studies and Policy Recommendations*.

Later this summer, we'll be distributing this policy paper to every member of Congress to educate them about Israel's abuse of US citizens and to provide them with concrete policy steps to ensure justice and accountability, and to end Israel's discrimination against US citizens because of their religion, ethnicity, or political viewpoint.

Learn more about the briefing by checking out our *Facebook event [ [link removed] ]* and if you're in the Washington, DC area, please *RSVP and join us in person [ [link removed] ]*.

Thank you for *taking action to invite your members of Congress [ [link removed] ]* to attend this critical Capitol Hill briefing.

Sincerely,

Jamal Najjab
Director of Government Relations
