Friend -- we need to hear from you!

Friend — I hope you've been following this — Rep. Lauren Boebert, who has supported QAnon conspiracies and has ties to militia groups, recently introduced the 30 x 30 Termination Act.

The bill is designed to scrap the Biden administration's 30 by 30 plan — an effort to work collaboratively with local communities to double the amount of protected land in the US. It's quickly picking up support from other like-minded members in the House.

Scientists argue this goal is absolutely essential to getting climate change under control and preventing mass wildlife extinctions. It also represents a real shot at ensuring everyone in this country has access to green spaces, regardless of race or zip code.

Friend — we're still $37,000 short of our goal. A group of donors has put up a match fund to triple every contribution right now.

If you ARE in a position to pitch in right now, a group of donors has put up a match fund to triple every contribution through the end of the month. Even $5 is enough to make a difference »

If you are NOT in a position to pitch in financially — can we ask you to do one quick thing instead? Just click here to let us know, and we'll stop asking for now »

We ALL need to step up if we're going to have any shot scaling up land conservation. We're asking for your help because the stakes are massive right now — and the truth is, there are SO many ways your contribution will make a difference:
  1. The American Jobs Plan — Biden's infrastructure plan — was originally proposed with huge investments in clean energy. We're now witnessing a last-minute push by the oil and gas industry to narrow the definition of infrastructure to just "roads and bridges" — squeezing out any action on clean energy and climate, and Republicans are running with it. We're campaigning like hell to make sure they don't succeed Don't let corporate polluters derail the biggest clean energy investments in history »
  2. We are lobbying the House to act following the Senate's historic vote to overturn a Trump order that let companies turn a blind eye to methane leaks at their facilities. It is urgent that we reverse this policy as quickly as possible. Methane pollution is responsible for 25 percent of the climate change we are experiencing today and along with other leaked pollutants contributes to serious health risks including cancer and neurological, reproductive, developmental, and respiratory health problems. Help us restore the EPA's power to enforce common sense safeguards against harmful methane pollution »
  3. We are building grassroots support in swing districts across the country behind the Biden-Harris administration's plan to slash super-pollutant hydrofluorocarbons, or HFCs, by 85% over the next 15 years. These industrial gases, commonly used in cooling applications such as AC and refrigerators, are extremely potent and do great damage when released into the atmosphere. Over a 20 year period, these gases are 3,790 times more damaging to the climate than carbon dioxide! We need your support to combat Koch-backed think tanks and polluting industries who oppose this common sense rule »
  4. Finally, we are making LCV members' voices heard on Capitol Hill by demanding that Congress pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, which would combat the disenfranchisement of communities of color that disproportionately suffer from the impacts of pollution and climate change. Across the country, Big Oil and their polluter allies are financing efforts to remove Americans' democratic rights and preserve their own grip on power. Right now, you can triple your impact in support of the fight to protect democracy in the United States, even $5 can make a difference »
Bottom line friend — what the environmental movement does next matters.

Will you help reach our $100,000 fundraising goal before the end of May? Help stop extremists like Rep. Boebert. Help win investments in clean energy. Help fight for environmental justice.

Do it all and triple your impact today:

Pitch in. Triple your impact. This fight is too important to miss »

Let's keep the pressure up. Together, we can win this.

Onward,

Gene Karpinski
