John,
We’re living through a time of tremendous suffering and resurgent hope. Despite the many challenges we face, across the country millions are breathing a sigh of relief at the prospect of seeing their loved ones again — and that includes us at the Institute for Policy Studies.
As we look to a safer horizon as we fight for global vaccine equity, we’re deeply thankful for your support of IPS over the last year and a half. You’re the reason we do this work: so that you and those you love can have a safer, happier, healthier future. So that everyone can.
Over the last several weeks, we’ve highlighted a range of our upcoming work in 2021.
We’re exposing the billionaire profiteers of the pandemic and pushing transformative tax proposals to make sure the rich pay their fair share. We’re working with affected communities to show what truly drives systemic poverty in the United States.
And as the research arm of the Poor People’s Campaign, we’re working to center poor and low-income people in policy conversations. We’ve even helped to craft a Congressional Resolution to End Poverty.
On the international front, we’re pressuring the Biden administration to end our forever wars, invest in diplomacy and equitable vaccine access, and enact a humane response to the refugee crisis our own foreign policies helped create.
Meanwhile we’re fighting for real climate diplomacy, a just transition to renewable energy, and for equitable public transit across America — while revealing the ways fossil fuel companies try to muzzle dissent.
Congress and our allies in the progressive movement look to IPS for big, transformative ideas to address our crises of climate, care, and inequality. So we’re looking to you for the support we need to speak truth to power.
We’re confident that this summer, we can transform the progressive momentum built up over the last year into real change. We’ll keep doing our work, putting pressure on Congress and the Biden administration to meaningfully address the problems the pandemic has laid bare.
We set a goal to raise $20,000 this spring, and we’ve already raised more than $2,000 toward that goal. John, please help us carry forward all of this vital work throughout the year by making a gift today:
