Last week, the House of Representatives voted to create a bipartisan commission to investigate the January 6 insurrection on our U.S. Capitol.

But dozens of Republicans like Ron Johnson, Mitch McConnell, and Marco Rubio have already announced their opposition in an effort to doom it in the Senate where we need 60 votes.

Yet again, McConnell and the Republican Party are doing everything they can to shield Donald Trump from being held accountable. We need to fight back.

With Republicans like Johnson and Rubio up for reelection next year, Democrats must make sure they feel the pressure for opposing this commonsense investigation.

The American people deserve to know the truth about what happened when rioters terrorized the Capitol and put thousands of lives at risk.

We need to get answers so we can prevent the events of January 6 from ever happening again — and we deserve nothing less than full accountability.
