Hi John,

As AAPI communities celebrate our heritage this month, we're also still hurting from a historic rise in violence and discrimination -- one that has reached even my own home.

When my 5-year-old son recently shared that he was being teased as a “China boy” at school, I heard the echoes of my own “slanty eyes” schoolyard taunts. But, we all know that this bullying speaks to a larger culture of discrimination that extends far beyond the playground or classroom.

ASPIRE PAC's mission to recruit and support AAPI candidates plays a key role confronting that hatred head-on. We need them with us in this fight, now more than ever -- especially in light of the myriad racially motivated voter suppression laws being passed in states across the country. Will you join me in supporting their vital work by making a grassroots donation today? >> [link removed]

When I was elected to Congress, I made the same promise that every parent makes to their kids: To leave them a better world than the one we inherited. I know I'm not alone -- I'll sometimes pass Rep. Grace Meng tucking her kids in over FaceTime when we're both burning the midnight oil at the Capitol.

Grace and I both know that our kids can't be what they can't see. But, more AAPI representation in Congress doesn't just help AAPI kids imagine a brighter future. It also opens new possibilities for every American family. After the year we've had, isn't that just what we all need right now?

This past year also proved that, if we want to be seen and heard, we need to be loud and visible. (Or, as Grace likes to say: “We've run out of nice.”) Please, will you chip in $10, $25, or $50 to help make sure ASPIRE is seen and heard for a long time to come? >> [link removed]

Thanks so much for your continued support and encouragement in these challenging times. Together, we can build a better future for all of our kids -- and bend the moral arc towards justice for AAPI communities across the country. I can't wait to see what this group accomplishes next!
