The pandemic exposed so many long-standing disparities in our health care, our schools, and our economy. To move forward together towards reopening and recovery, we have to take systemic racism and inequality head on.

This group of leaders are just the right people to be listening to and thinking through hard questions with about how to design and implement policy changes that help undo the ways that exclusion, segregation, and discrimination are built into how our city works.

Tomorrow we’ll hear from:

Heather McGee, whose new book Sum of Us explores the economic costs of systemic racism.
Dorcey Applyrs, who has been leading innovative approaches to auditing city agencies for equity, as Albany's Chief City Auditor, a role similar to NYC’s Comptroller.
And Jumaane Williams, who continues to push NYC forward on issues of systemic racism in housing, schools and policing as Public Advocate.
