Corporate-run “Medicare Advantage” plans have overcharged taxpayers to the tune of $30 billion over three years. And while Aetna, Cigna, Humana and UnitedHealth Group are getting rich ripping off U.S. taxpayers, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)―under the Trump administration―is yet to take any action (let alone develop a plan) to hold these greedy insurers accountable.
Instead, just last week Donald Trump signed an executive order that would push even more people toward for-profit “Medicare Advantage” plans―further enriching the greedy insurance industry while driving up costs in an attempt to eviscerate traditional Medicare.
Social Security Works is standing side-by-side with our champions in Congress to fight back against the Trump administration’s attempts to privatize Medicare. Instead of privatizing our earned benefits, it’s time that we expand Medicare and create a Medicare for All system that covers every single American.
Donate today to fight back against the Trump administration’s attempts to privatize Medicare!
U.S. government audits have revealed that many Medicare Advantage plans pose “an imminent and serious risk to the health of enrollees,” failing to cover medical services their members are entitled to.
Last month, Senators Bernie Sanders, Sherrod Brown, Amy Klobuchar, Chris Murphy, Debbie Stabenow and Richard Blumenthal wrote a letter to the Trump administration demanding that it: “take prompt action to ensure Medicare Advantage plan sponsors are held accountable for overcharging the federal government, meeting their contractual obligations, and appropriately managing the needs of older adults and people with disabilities.”
Fight back against the Trump administration’s attempts to privatize Medicare. Donate to Social Security Works today.
Together, let’s demand a Medicare for All system that lowers out-of-pocket expenses while expanding Medicare to cover dental, hearing, vision and long-term care.
Thank you,
Michael Phelan Social Security Works
