With the end-of-month deadline less than a week away, I want to give you an honest, behind-the-scenes look at our campaign.

Deadlines like the one we have coming up on May 31st are important for our campaign. Ultimately, Election Day victories come down to our on-the-ground organizing efforts and we set fundraising goals along the way to make sure we have the financial resources to do the work of spreading our message.

Right now, we’re a little behind where we need to be to reach our end-of-month goal on the 31st. Ordinarily, that wouldn’t worry me too much because we still have some time to make up the difference.

But this month, the deadline falls on a holiday weekend, and historically, we’ve seen contributions drop off during this time of the year. That means we need to work ahead to make sure we don’t miss our goal. So I need to ask: If you can, will you chip in a few dollars before the month is over?
