Dear John,

I just learned something really important as a result of a recent survey we sent you about why you support Marianne Williamson for President. 

With more than 4,000 responses, one data point really stood out:

35% of Marianne Williamson's supporters are not registered Democrats. 

While Marianne is a Democrat and running as a Democrat, 35% of you⁠—her supporters⁠—are Republicans, independents, members of a 3rd party, or unaffiliated.

That's higher than we thought and important for two reasons:

1. Marianne is the bridge candidate. Our country needs unification, not polarization, and we are proud to serve as that bridge for our nation in this challenging time. 
    
2. In this presidential race, qualifying for the DNC debates matters a lot because of the credibility, media, and fundraising it drives. However, when pollsters ask who one is most likely to vote for in the primary, most only include responses from those who identify as “Democrat or leaning Democrat.” If 35% of our supporters don’t identify as Democrats, then they won’t be counted among those responses. Marianne has to garner 35% more support to compete against establishment Democrats.

On the one hand, point #2 is sobering. We're in a way handicapped and thus have to work twice as hard in order to compete. 

On the other hand, it's refreshing. It begins to explain why we're exploding in popularity in spite of not having qualified for the recent debates. 

The fact that Marianne is the bridge candidate, and that we are welcoming Americans from so many backgrounds and viewpoints, is one reason we love the Marianne Williamson campaign. 

We must show up bigger and stronger if this is the America we want. We must be a true phenomenon, even with odds stacked against us. The only way we continue to do that is through fundraising and spreading our collective vision on social media.
