"If I could pay of these loans, I would." What's your story?

Hey John,
Two out of three young people have student loan debt. This $1.7 trillion crisis, that burdens 45 million Americans, only continues to grow. Experts say it’ll hit harder than the 2008 mortgage crisis— it’s beyond alarming that nothing has been done to curb student debt yet.
Are you also extremely frustrated and overwhelmed by your student debt? You’re not alone.
We launched the #CancelStudentDebt Voices project to elevate the experiences of REAL borrowers. [[link removed]] If we use our collective voices, we can push our leaders to take action.

Sabrina is a student loan borrower who’s already shared her story with this project. By speaking up like Sabrina, you’ll be helping us shift the narrative.
It’s clear that so many people have the wrong idea about who student loan borrowers are. I hear this so often and it's true, "We’re not rich; if we were able to pay off the loans WE WOULD."
No one wants their loans hanging over their head. But too often, it’s a choice between loan payments or rent, medicine, or other necessities. In fact, people with smaller balances often struggle the most to pay off the debt. And statistically Black borrowers bear the brunt of the student debt crisis, being more likely to need to take out a loan to afford college, borrow more, and take longer to pay it off—all due to systemic racism (i.e. generational poverty, redlining, racial wage gap, and more).
Our higher education system was not made to be equitable; it needs a lot of work. We can make change happen. Add your voice: join the almost 10,000 other borrowers and speak up. [[link removed]]
Thanks for fighting,
