The Republican resistance to the creation of a January 6 commission makes it loud and clear: the GOP has sold its soul to former President Trump.

Republicans are afraid of the truth and what will come out in a thorough investigation. They are also worried that the findings would hurt their chances in future elections, since so many of them enabled, excused, and supported the reckless president who incited the deadly Capitol riot.
