Team,
I ran for Congress to be a voice for working families and Main Street small businesses across New Hampshire, not to make history. But our campaign did just that with our victories in 2018 and 2020. In 2018 I became New Hampshire’s first openly gay representative, and in 2020 I was the first Democrat to win reelection in my district in twelve years.
But winning reelection in 2022 is going to be an uphill battle. National Republicans have been running ads in my district targeting me since January, and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee listed me as a Frontline Democrat — one of the most vulnerable incumbents going into the midterm elections.
I'm proud to be a member of the New Democrat Coalition working for our priorities in Congress. The NewDems' work fighting to defend the House majority was crucial to helping me win reelection in 2020, and I'm grateful to have their support again. Will you chip in to my reelection campaign to help us make the early investments we need to protect my frontline seat and hold the House majority?
As a co-chair of the New Democrat Coalition Future of Work Task Force in the 116th Congress, I worked with my House colleagues to prioritize modernizing the social safety net and empowering American workers. We've worked together to develop solution-oriented policies that will prepare workers to adapt to a changing economy.
Republicans know that my seat is one of the five seats they need to flip the House majority, and we're risking all of the progress we've made if we let them win. Now I need your help to fight back against National Republicans and defend my frontline seat.
I'm building my reelection campaign the right way with grassroots donors like you. If you are able, please chip in whatever fits your budget to power my grassroots campaign and defend our Democratic majority.
Thank you,
Chris Pappas
