This week, Mitch McConnell made his intentions crystal clear on all our
priorities: NBC News reported his statement Wednesday that “one-hundred
percent of our focus is on stopping this new administration...What we have
in the United States Senate is totally unity from Susan Collins to Ted
Cruz in opposition to what the new Biden administration is trying to do to
this country.”

Between that and news of weekly GOP calls to strategize on stopping the
For the People Act, every new development in the GOP’s opposition to
democracy reform makes it clearer -- they’re threatened by the prospect of
a truly representative system, because they know they can only stay in
power when they rig the rules. And they’re going to keep cheating to try
to defeat S. 1 and other democracy bills.

This fight is about undoing the injustices that have been built into our
democratic system over the last few centuries. Making it simpler to vote,
making it easier to run for office, making cash flow more transparent --
these are all reforms that will rebalance power in this country in favor
