Hi there --
The stories we've seen about the hundreds of new voter suppression laws have made it very clear: Republicans are fighting to win by shrinking the electorate. Now, one tool Democrats could have used to fight back might be rendered useless before the 2022 elections.
According to the New York Times, “Republican voter suppression laws passed in Georgia and Florida ... have so many new provisions that Democrats find troublesome both politically and legally that it is proving overwhelming to confront the measures one by one in court.”
President Trump relentlessly packed the courts with his far-right ideological allies during his administration, so the courts were already treacherous terrain for Democrats. However, it's now clear that Democrats won't be able to fix voter suppression problems in court by 2022 simply because the Republicans have so drastically expanded their efforts.
One thing is crystal clear, friend: In 2022, Democrats are going to have to win by out-organizing and out-working our opponents at the ballot box.
Republicans have tried to limit voting rights for years now, and Democrats still win elections. And we're going to do it again in 2022, but only if we're fully prepared.
