Have you been hearing
about that huge budget “surplus” Gavin Newsom has been bragging about
in California?

It turns out that it’s a complete and total
fabrication.

The nonpartisan Legislative Analyst Office called it
“shortsighted and inadvisable,” because apparently, it relies on $12
BILLION drawn from our reserves and borrowed from other sources. You
can’t go into debt and then claim to have a surplus — if families ran
their finances this way, they’d be out on the streets in no time!
