Former House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney just called the GOP's direction “very dangerous” after being ousted from her position. And we agree.

But claims over a stolen election and the violent insurrection weren't the first signs of a spiraling political party.

The GOP has remained an extremist party for much of recent history -- from opposing gay marriage to keeping kids in cages along the southern border. The GOP tried to shut down the single most consequential piece of legislation this century -- the Affordable Care Act -- before it was passed, and they continue to fight it nearly every legislative session, showing their reckless disregard for working families and the more than TWENTY-MILLION Americans who didn't have health care before this landmark bill.

Rep. Liz Cheney may finally see the GOP's true colors, but hundreds of her colleagues are still dutifully marching in Trump's footsteps.
