Defending American Energy Security
This week, Congressman David B. McKinley, P.E. (R-W. Va.) and I re-introduced our resolution to condemn a carbon tax – a resolution that has been introduced every Congress since 2013.
Speaker Pelosi’s liberal lieutenants continue to threaten the imposition of a devastating carbon tax, which would increase the cost of everything from electricity and gasoline to food and everyday household products that hard-working families buy.
With the reintroduction of my anti-carbon tax resolution, all members of Congress will have the opportunity to be on record opposing a costly, job-killing carbon tax that would devastate families and jeopardize America’s energy security.
I co-authored an op-ed for the Washington Examiner with Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist, pointing out the absurdity of expecting American workers and families to pay more in taxes to subsidize the radical left’s green agenda and the negative impacts a carbon tax would have on low-income and middle class families. Standing with Israel
The news from the Middle East reminds us of the grave threats surrounding Israel.
Joe Biden spent more time trying to help Iran get a nuclear weapon in his first 120 days than he has standing behind Israel and standing up to the anti-Semites in the House who have been criticizing Israel these last several days.
With the support of Iran, the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, terrorists continue to seek to destroy the State of Israel. This barrage of terror attacks against Israel must stop, and Palestinian leaders must condemn this violence. There is no justification for terrorism, and Israel has the inherent right to defend itself and its people.
The United States stands with our strong ally, and I will continue to ensure the United States fully upholds our commitment to Israel and continues to support critical missile defense programs, like the Iron Dome, which has saved countless lives.
Visiting with Louisiana Home Builders Association
I enjoyed meeting with the Louisiana Home Builders Association (LHBA) this week. We discussed topics ranging from lumber prices and inflation to the National Flood Insurance Program and ongoing labor shortages.
It is an honor to represent you in Congress. For more information, please visit my website, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages.
