Together, we've shown that we don't need fancy fundraisers, corporate PACs, or powerful lobbyists to make big, structural change -- we just need a grassroots movement.
Over July, August, and September, more than half a million people pitched in to help power this campaign. I am deeply grateful for every single one of them.
Together, we've shown that we don't need fancy fundraisers, corporate PACs, or powerful lobbyists to make big, structural change — we just need a grassroots movement.
We have so much planned for the next few months as we race towards the end of the year. And right now, we're getting closer and closer to our next major milestone: 2 million grassroots contributions.
When we show that 2 million small-dollar contributions can compete — and win — we'll send a message to wealthy donors that they no longer have a stranglehold on our democracy.
And when we hit 2 million, we will know how we got there. With zero contributions from closed-door fundraisers, zero from fossil fuel lobbyists, and zero from billionaires buying favors.
Side by side, we can rewrite the playbook on what a presidential campaign should look like. We can reimagine what kind of events a presidential candidate should go to, and how they should spend their time.
We're going to bring our politics back to what it should be all about — meeting people where they are, talking about real problems, and even coming up with some real solutions.
