Dear Friends,

Next Town Hall – Biennial Budget and Associated Legislation

On May 25th from 7 pm to 8 pm I’ll host a monthly Town Hall meeting focused on the State Senate’s budget recommendations and associated legislation. I’ll be joined by Sen. Cindy Rosenwald, from Nashua, who serves on the Senate Finance Committee. Join us to hear how New Hampshire’s state budget is shaping up for the next two years, fiscal years 2022 and 2023. Share your priorities for school funding, healthcare, housing, infrastructure, environment, transportation and other matters important for Cheshire County.

To understand how American Rescue Plan funds will benefit NH with additional resources over the next few years, we’ll be joined by Corey Garry, Deputy State Director for U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan. Our NH congressional delegation has done amazing work to bring billions of dollars to help NH catch up on priorities deferred over the past decade.

CCD Leadership

Cheshire County Democratic Committee leadership transition is underway. You’ll be hearing more from our new chairman, Mohammed Saleh, soon. Congratulations to the new executive committee, I look forward to working with you. To our outgoing officers who gave so much to help elect Democrats up and down the ticket, thank you Carl, Ann, Frank, JoAnn, Jim and Dita.

End of Legislative Session

All bills are to clear both chambers by June 3rd. Where there are differing versions, conference committees will form beginning June 10th. The final legislative day is set for June 24th.
