** Eyes On | Senate S1 Trojan Horse Bill

Two bills, one plan.
Senate bill S1 is designed to invalidate state-level voter ID, signature matching, and anti-ballot harvesting laws and hand control of elections over to the federal government. This bill, whose equivalent has already been passed out of the House on a party-line vote, is "the most radical legislation the Senate has considered in the nine years I've been here," according to Senator Ted Cruz ([link removed]) (R-TX), and “the most dangerous legislation pending before the United States Congress.”
S1 is also a trojan horse, designed to be so radical that it makes other dangerous election laws look moderate by comparison. The plan is working: NBC reported this week that Senators Machin (D-WV) and Murkowski (R-AK) have asked Congress to reintroduce the John Lewis Voting Rights Act ([link removed]) , which would be almost as destructive as S1: It would strip states of their right to control their own election integrity laws, requiring that state laws receive “pre-clearance” from the Department of Justice.
For proponents of vote fraud, this is a win-win situation: Either they get S1, or they get the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. In either case, states lose their ability to protect voters from fraud and abuse, and elections become a rubber-stamp for the federal bureaucracy. We must act now to stop this legislation...

New Jersey Assembly Bill 5725 "amends existing law to transfer responsibility for the issuance of certificates of election to county boards and successful candidates for county committee member from municipal clerks to county clerks. This will help to ensure that write-in votes, vote by mail ballots, and provisional ballots will be included in the vote count before such certificates are issued."

GOP Voting Laws an Attempt to Undermine Democracy
From Breitbart - Failed Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams said Thursday on MSNBC’s "The Last Word" that Republican state lawmakers forwarding voting legislation is a continuation of the January 6 Capitol riot "insurrection."
Abrams said, "We do need to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act because it is the only way to preclude new laws that will erode access to the right to vote. The challenge is that it’s not enough on its own. We have to be both prophylactic with this, but we also have to respond to and neutralize the bad bills that are passing at breakneck pace right now in Florida, Georgia, Arizona, Texas and now being introduced and moving with speed in Ohio and Michigan."

Arizona Must Ditch Voting Machines After GOP Audit, Elections Chief Says
From Washington Times - Voting machines from Arizona’s most populous county should not be used in the future after state Senate Republicans forced officials to give them access for an audit of 2020 election results, the state’s top elections official said Thursday. Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, a Democrat, said in a letter that Maricopa County lost control of the machines after they were handed over and doesn’t know what was done to them.

Michigan Judge Dismisses Final Election Lawsuit Claiming Fraud
From Newsmax - "By deciding this motion, the court is not saying that there were no problems in the way that Antrim County conducting its November 2020 elections," 13th Circuit Court Judge Kevin Elsenheimer said during a Zoom video conference of the hearing. "The clerk has admitted that there were challenges and problems in the elections, although the hand count ultimately of the presidential election showed the results were largely consistent with the canvas totals that were entered by the state and reported by the county. Nor am I saying that the processing of election data here was not corrupted or corruptible. I don't have the facts to make that determination."
