** Dear John,
------------------------------------------------------------

LCA is celebrating the historic closure of Ringling Bros. Circus four years ago today.

On May 21, 2017, after over 100 years of abusing animals for entertainment, Ringling Bros. Circus performed its final show in New York. I was on hand to bear witness to Ringling's final act of animal abuse. The closure marked a hard-won victory by LCA and others in the animal rights movement to end the exploitation and abuse of elephants, lions, tigers, camels, and other captive animals at the hands of Ringing Bros.

LCA was at the forefront working to expose Ringling Bros. by conducting undercover investigations, protesting, advocating for legislation, and performing public outreach.

For over 30 years, LCA relentlessly campaigned and exposed the sickening animal cruelty Ringling Bros. tried so desperately to hide. At one point, Ringling’s CEO, Kenneth Feld, sent one of his own investigators to spy on me. That move backfired as the investigator ended up “flipping” and worked with LCA after realizing the cruelty involved in Ringling’s training tactics. Watch the true story here. ([link removed])

LCA would like to thank everyone who signed petitions, protested, wrote letters, and helped in the campaign against Ringling Bros. Working together, we made real change for the animals! Although the closure of Ringling Bros. was a major victory, unfortunately, animals continue to suffer for the sake of entertainment in circuses, marine parks, zoo's, and other facilities across the world.

LCA will not stop until every animal is free, and animals are no longer exploited for entertainment.
