You’re invited to join us on May 21st!

Dear John,

Thank you to everyone who joined Liddy and Courtney on today's special Endangered Species Day Zoom seminar, asked questions, and sent words of support and encouragement!

On Endangered Species Day and every day, we fight for nonhuman rights because it is unjust and archaic for zoos or any institution to force autonomous nonhuman beings like our elephant client Happy to become imprisoned "ambassadors" for their species. As Liddy says in the seminar, "The Bronx Zoo claims, and we are not disputing the fact, that they are in compliance with all of these [animal welfare] laws. And our answer to that is, who cares? These laws are minimal. They're basic. They're essentially to keep an animal alive. That is the difference between animal welfare and animal rights. If Happy has [the] right [to liberty], she will no longer be at the Bronx Zoo."

If you’re currently in a position to do so, please consider making a contribution to the NhRP so that we can continue to do all it takes, inside and outside of the courtroom, to give autonomous nonhuman beings like Happy back their freedom.

The recording of today's seminar can be found here on our YouTube channel. Please feel free to share and rewatch our past seminars while you're there!

Please visit Happy's client page to view the full timeline of her case. In addition, here is a list of all the ways you can help free Happy right now. In the coming weeks, we will add more actions to this list, so please stay tuned!

If you have any further questions regarding Happy's case or anything mentioned in today's seminar, please feel free to respond to this email.

As always, thank you for your support!

With gratitude,

Mickey Suzuki
