I recently had a great virtual conversation with Congressman Lieu, where we talked about my latest book Un-Trumping America. We made progress towards that goal – and avoided catastrophe – by electing Joe Biden to the presidency this past November, but Trumpism has far from disappeared, and it would be a mistake to get lulled into believing our work is finished.

I wanted to talk to Ted because I know he understands what’s at stake. From prosecuting the case against Trump as an impeachment manager to his work on the Judiciary Committee, Congressman Lieu has been a powerful voice in Washington holding Republicans accountable. We cannot afford to lose him in Congress.

So, I’m asking you to stay in the fight – to maintain the same sense of urgency you felt last year and in 2018 – by donating to Ted’s reelection campaign.

I was serving in President Obama’s White House in 2010 when Tea Party Republicans delivered us what President Obama infamously called a “shellacking,” unseating over 60 House Democrats and effectively ending Obama’s chances at passing any further major legislation. Protecting the House and reelecting Democrats like Congressman Lieu must be one of our top priorities. Just imagine a Speaker McCarthy – the consequences are almost too disastrous to contemplate. We need to begin laying the groundwork to win NOW, and we can’t take any seat for granted.

Republicans are certain to collect huge sums of cash from billionaires and corporate donors in their quest to regain Congress. Democrats like Congressman Lieu will primarily have to rely on grassroots donors like you to save the House. If you can, please donate today and help keep Ted in Congress!
