2. FOX NEWS: Supreme Court agrees to hear challenge to Mississippi abortion law

“The Supreme Court <[link removed]> agreed Monday to consider a major rollback of abortion rights, saying it will decide whether states can ban abortions <[link removed]> before a fetus can survive outside the womb.

The court's order sets up a showdown over abortion, probably in the fall, with a more conservative court seemingly ready to dramatically alter nearly 50 years of rulings on abortion rights.

The court first announced a woman's constitutional right to an abortion in the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision and reaffirmed it 19 years later.

The case involves a Mississippi law that would prohibit abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy. The state's ban had been blocked by lower courts as inconsistent with Supreme Court precedent that protects a woman's right to obtain an abortion before the fetus can survive outside her womb.”

We recognized almost a year ago that the Mississippi case had the potential to impact North Carolina and to begin eroding the Supreme Court’s logic in Roe v. Wade. Therefore, our sister organization the Institute for Faith & Family filed an amicus brief to the Supreme Court (which you can read here) <[link removed]>, to support Mississippi’s law limiting abortion at 15 weeks gestation.

If you support our pro-life work, would you please consider making a monthly or one-time donation of $5, $10, $25, $50, $75, or $100 towards advancing pro-life legislation and filing pro-life Amicus Briefs? <[link removed]>

4. CNS NEWS: U.S. Army Runs Animated Recruitment Ad: 'A Little Girl Raised by Two Moms'

“In a new, animated recruitment ad, the U.S. Army presents the story of "Emma," a real soldier (Emma Malonelord), who was raised by lesbians, enjoyed a "fairly typical childhood," saw her two moms get married,  and decided to join the Army to experience her ‘own adventures, my own challenge.’

It is a recruitment ad with a pro-homosexual theme. It presents lesbian behavior, "gay marriage," and gay parenting as normal and patriotic.”

5. CAROLINA JOURNAL: Report: N.C. ranks 5th nationally in economic competitiveness

"North Carolina is among the top five states in the nation on metrics such as tax rates, size of state government, and income transfer programs, according to a new report <[link removed]> from the American Legislative Exchange Council.

WEEKLY PRAYER: OFFICIALS

LORD, you also have instructed us to pray for our governing officials, and we come to you in the spirit of this petition. We pray for our national government and its executive, legislative, and judicial servants. May they indeed be servants unto the people, and govern in a manner that protects liberty and virtue. In the same spirit, we pray for public servants across our state and local governments. May they all heed your mandate in Romans 13:4 to be in positions of authority as "God's servant" and for the "good" of the public. They govern in what we confess are difficult times. May they plead with you to give them wisdom, and may your grace respond in provision.

Protect we, the People, from this virus, and help quicken our social, physical, emotional, and economic recovery.

Amen
