The Texas governor just signed into law one of the cruelest abortion bans in the country.
If the bill goes into effect in September, it will ban abortion as early as six weeks. Six weeks. If you're thinking that's before many people know they're pregnant, you're exactly right. No exceptions in cases of rape or incest. No respect for the rights or will of the pregnant person.
And this ban adds something truly awful and new to the abortion restriction playbook: Anyone who helps a patient secure an abortion can be sued by any private citizen – from any state. So if you give your friend a ride to a health center, you could be sued.
This is a direct attack on all of us and our reproductive freedom, and you better believe we're going to fight this and every other attack with everything we've got. That means we need the full force of our movement. I'm counting on you, to rush a gift to Planned Parenthood Action Fund today.

We're witnessing an unprecedented attack on abortion this spring — with the Supreme Court taking up Mississippi's 15-week abortion ban, Abbott signing Texas' six-week ban, and 500+ abortion restrictions introduced this year alone.
They're trying to rob us of our rights and access. They're trying to control our bodies.
And we will have none of it.
This is when our movement needs to get loud. We need to do everything in our collective power to fight back to protect Roe and defend every person's right to safe, legal abortion. Please give today.
It's the people of Texas who will suffer the harshest consequences of this abortion ban — especially those who've always faced systemic barriers to care, including many Black and brown people and people with low incomes.
I have a message for everyone reading this: We are fighting for you. Abortion is still legal in Texas. Planned Parenthood health center doors remain open to everyone who needs access to essential care. We will do whatever it takes to protect your rights.
We need your help now. Rush an emergency gift to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. I'm counting on this community to pitch in to ensure we've got what it takes to fight back against any attack they launch at us.
