Democrat,

Since he switched parties and decided to go all in with Donald Trump, Rep. Jeff Van Drew has continued to drift further and further out of the mainstream and towards the extreme right wing. That continued this week when he voted no on a bipartisan bill to create an independent commission to study the horrific events of January 6th, when an angry mob spurred on by Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol. Read our full statement on Van Drew’s disgraceful vote here.

Even Rep. Chris Smith, who is one of the most conservative members of the House of Representatives, did the right thing and joined dozens of Republicans and every Democrat in voting to establish the commission. Van Drew’s no vote is another disgrace and all the more reason why he must be defeated next year. Join our “Traitor Van Drew” campaign here to stand up for our democracy.

Header: Gov. Murphy Update

With the Supreme Court threatening women’s reproductive rights with a pending case that could weaken Roe v. Wade, states are mobilizing to codify abortion rights to ensure that women’s right to choose is protected. Here in New Jersey, Governor Phil Murphy has made his support for women’s reproductive rights 100% clear and he is working to pass the Reproductive Freedom Act to ensure that women in our state continue to have access to these critical health care services regardless of what the Supreme Court does. Yesterday, the Governor was joined by legislators and advocates on a video roundtable organized by Planned Parenthood of NJ to discuss the urgent need to pass the bill.

President Biden got behind the wheel this week to help showcase the new Ford F-150 Lightning, the American car icon’s first fully electric pickup truck. The President used the event to highlight the need to pass the American Jobs Plan to invest in electric vehicles and other forward-looking initiatives that will create millions of jobs and also help fight climate change.

Thank you,
