Run for Something

Hi there --

On a normal day, 20 or so people tell us they want to learn more about running for office. Yesterday, with the launch of wherecanirun.org, we had more than 1,000 potential candidates raise their hands.

If you haven't taken a look at the new site, you really should -- a lot of heart and hard work went into it. And definitely share it with a smart young person in your life; there are still thousands of uncontested races across the country that could use a progressive voice.

Thank you for all you do,

Amanda

P.S. I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't remind you that projects like these are only made possible by our generous donors, chipping in a few dollars at a time.

Hi there --

Less than one month to Election Day, I'm so excited to tell you about two big things we're launching today:

First things first: Through Run for Something Action Fund (RFSAF), our affiliated 501c4, we're launching wherecanirun.org, a new groundbreaking tool that allows potential candidates to enter their name, address, birthday and see all the potential state and local offices they can run for -- including, when possible, whether the position is part or full time, any eligibility requirements, filing instructions, and whether someone has already filed for the position. It feels like this should already have existed, right? We're so thrilled to finally make it happen.

This new tool is a critical part of our other big announcement today: RFSAF just kicked off a ~$50,000 ad campaign to recruit candidates in key state legislative districts in Texas ahead of the December 9th filing deadline. We're the first organization (as far as we know) to ever use targeted online ads to generate possible candidates.

Check out wherecanirun.org (and maybe share it with a young progressive in your life!), then chip in to help recruit smart, passionate candidates in Texas -- where we could flip the State House in 2020 by winning just nine more seats -- and other states where Republicans have a hold on the legislature.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Thank you,
