This is our chance for real climate progress? ? ? ? ? Friend ? this is urgent.

Congress's vote on the American Jobs Plan-inspired investments package is looming, and we're witnessing a last-minute push by oil and gas CEOs to narrow the definition of infrastructure to just "roads and bridges" ? squeezing out any action on clean energy, climate, and environmental justice.

We can't let this happen. Fossil fuel CEOs are already running well-funded pressure campaigns to try and flip enough votes to block environmental investments.

We need the environmental movement to raise hell right now. Across the country data shows overwhelming support for clean energy, good-paying union jobs, and environmental justice, and we refuse to let that support be silenced by the interests of Oil and Gas Corporations over the interests of our communities.

We are asking LCV members to step up today. We've set a $100,000 fundraising goal before the end of May, and a group of donors has agreed to triple every contribution.

Your support will fund advertisements, phone calls, grassroots action, LCV staffers meeting (remotely) with Congressional leaders, and so much more. So, we're asking every LCV member today, can you help us fight back?

If you ARE in a position to pitch in right now, a group of donors has put up a match fund to triple every contribution through the end of the month. Even $5 is enough to make a difference ? [link removed]

If you are NOT in a position to pitch in financially ? can we ask you to do one quick thing instead? Just click here to let us know, and we'll stop asking for now. [link removed]

We cannot continue to allow Big Polluters to delay progress that will bring clean energy, jobs, and environmental justice to communities across the country, especially when low-income communities and communities of color continue to suffer disproportionately and bear the brunt of the effects of pollution and the climate crisis.

We're asking for your help because the stakes are massive right now ? and the truth is, there are SO many ways your contribution will make a difference. Here are just a few: We are flooding lawmakers' offices with encouragement to conserve 30 percent of America's lands and waters by 2030. This effort will stem fossil fuel extraction on public lands, a practice that currently generates A QUARTER of America's greenhouse gas emissions. Trump opened many public lands to drilling, mining, and logging in hopes that he could hand out sweetheart deals to his polluter cronies at the expense of the country's most cherished ecosystems and cultural sites. Stand with us to show Big Oil CEOs that our public lands are not for sale or exploitation ? [link removed] We are lobbying the House to act following the Senate's historic vote to overturn a Trump order that let companies turn a blind eye to methane leaks at their facilities. It is urgent that we reverse this policy as quickly as possible. Methane pollution is responsible for 25 percent of the climate change we are experiencing today and along with other leaked pollutants contributes to serious health risks including cancer and neurological, reproductive, developmental, and respiratory health problems. Help us restore the EPA's power to enforce common sense safeguards against harmful methane pollution ? [link removed] We are building grassroots support in swing districts across the country behind the Biden-Harris administration's plan to slash super-pollutant hydrofluorocarbons, or HFCs, by 85% over the next 15 years. These industrial gases, commonly used in cooling applications such as AC and refrigerators, are extremely potent and do great damage when released into the atmosphere. Over a 20 year period, these gases are 3,790 times more damaging to the climate than carbon dioxide! We need your support to combat Koch-backed think tanks and polluting industries who oppose this common sense rule ? [link removed] Finally, we are making LCV members' voices heard on Capitol Hill by demanding that Congress pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, which would combat the disenfranchisement of communities of color that disproportionately suffer from the impacts of pollution and climate change. Across the country, Big Oil and their polluter allies are financing efforts to remove Americans' democratic rights and preserve their own grip on power. Right now, you can triple your impact in support of the fight to protect democracy in the United States ? [link removed] The AJP is our next, best shot at solving the climate crisis, friend. Together, we can make our dream of a cleaner, healthier, and more just future a reality.

Thank you for your persistence in this fight.
