Good afternoon friend,

*** BREAKING NEWS ***

For the first time since 2015 a new Assisted Dying Bill will be debated in the House of Lords
[[link removed]] . The Bill is due to have its First Reading on the 26th May and we need to be
ready to take on opponents of law change.

The First Reading will introduce Peers to the contents of the Bill - there are
no votes at this stage but there will be a vote at the Second Reading, likely to
be towards the end of this year. This new piece of legislation proposes an
assisted dying law that would allow terminally ill, mentally competent adults in
their final months of life to have access to life-ending medication that they
would take themselves, with the approval of two doctors.

This is a once in a decade opportunity. While the road ahead is not clear, I know that dedicated supporters like you,
, will make sure we are able to rise to the challenge. By joining as a member today,
[[link removed]] you can make sure that we are in an ideal position to win as we fight for
change.

Before the Bill’s Second Reading we will need to come out in force to show peers
the groundswell of support for law change.

We’ll know about the timing of the Bill soon but until then it will help the
campaign to prepare if we know we can rely on your ongoing support. If you can, giving just £2 per month
[[link removed]] will make sure that we can be bold and ambitious in our fight for change.

There will be more for you to do to make sure Parliament knows where you stand
ahead of the Bill’s debate - you’ll be the first to know when the time is right.

Thank you for everything you’ve done to get us to this point. Together, we will
change the law.
