One third of all animal and plant species on the planet could face extinction by 2070 due to climate change.

From sea turtles to polar bears to the monarch butterfly, the climate crisis poses a grave and growing threat to animals and ecosystems around the world. Melting ice caps, drought, heat waves and unpredictable weather patterns lead to habitat loss and other stressors.

The good news is it’s not too late to prevent this bleak future.

But to do so, we must make immediate, lasting progress in the fight against the climate emergency we are in - we must take bold action now to slash climate pollution.

Will you make a gift to EDF this Endangered Species Day to help drive real change to protect species and create healthier communities and a thriving planet?

Donate today, and we’ll send you a PDF copy of our latest member-exclusive Special report: Defender of the rainforest.

With caring and committed people like you, we’ve proven we can change the course of history and solve major environmental threats. And we can do it again!

That’s why on Endangered Species Day, we’re asking you to protect our planet’s most unique and amazing animals.

Like those in the Amazon rainforest, home to millions of plant and animal species. Many are currently endangered due to deforestation, forest degradation and the impacts of climate change.

Did you know that reducing tropical deforestation is one of the most effective ways to fight climate change and protect the diverse animals and plants that call the rainforest home? Thanks to the support of EDF members, we've spent decades fighting deforestation and protecting the rights of Indigenous Peoples.

With your donation today, you won't only be protecting the animals of the Amazon from climate change - you'll be protecting endangered species worldwide by driving the boldest lasting climate solutions, such as:

# Stabilizing the climate by harnessing the power of nature,
# Slashing methane pollution to supercharge planet-saving strategies, and
# Electrifying the transportation sector while cleaning up electricity generation.

Time is running out to break the climate emergency cycle and secure a safer climate future. But I know with your help we can.

John, donate $HPC to EDF today to continue to drive bold solutions and work to protect all species and our planet:
