Right now, my friend Jennifer Carroll Foy is running for Governor of Virginia -- and if she wins, she’ll be the first Black woman elected governor in American history.
Not only that, but she’ll be a relentless champion for working families. In the course of her campaign, she’s put an enormous spotlight on issues close to my heart, like paid family leave, workers’ rights, and bringing down the cost of health care.
Jennifer is the embodiment of the American Dream we’re fighting to restore.
She was one of the first women to graduate from the Virginia Military Institute. In 2017, she ran for the House of Delegates, knocking on thousands of doors while pregnant with twins!
She won her race and led the charge to clean up coal ash, expand Medicaid to 500,000 Virginians, and fix our broken criminal justice system.
Jennifer has a vision for a Virginia where everyone is treated fairly, regardless of age, gender, orientation, race, or zip code. If she wins, it’ll send a powerful, nationwide message that our elected officials desperately need to hear!
