Friend,

We should be making it easier for all eligible Americans to cast their ballot -- not harder.

The right -- and the freedom -- to vote is essential to our democracy. My friend and hero John Lewis called this right sacred.

That's why I'm writing you today, to ask you to support the For the People Act, which was passed by the House in early March, was introduced to the Senate in mid-March (I was a proud original cosponsor), and was reported to the full Senate last week. I am hopeful S.1 will be brought in front of the full Senate soon for a vote.

This bill, if passed, would immediately address election security and campaign finance (to make sure elected officials are beholden to the American people and not billionaires or corporations) and expand voter registration and voting access.

My dear friend John was correct: The right to vote is sacred, and we've got to protect and expand that right with all we've got.

If you want to protect and expand the sacred right to vote, please add your name today in support of the For the People Act.
