Step 3 of the Government's roadmap is now underway but it's still important to remember the following to ensure numbers of positive Covid cases remain low in Oldham:
Meet outside as much as possible
If you do meet inside, make sure the space is well ventilated – open windows and doors
Take the vaccine when you are offered it, and encourage others to as well
Remember that some people are more vulnerable than others to being seriously ill from Covid
Minimise how many people you’re in close contact with, and for how long
Get tested twice a week
Wash your hands and clean surfaces regularly to remove virus particles

Over 34s now eligible for vaccine People aged 34 and over, or those who will turn 34 before 1 July, can now book their Coronavirus vaccinations on the national booking service. For more information and to book, click here. Second vaccinations brought forward for high risk groups For those in the highest priority groups (1–9), the NHS is bringing forward the second dose of the Covid vaccination appointments for those who haven’t already had both appointments.
Previously, the NHS had offered second dose appointments up to 12 weeks after the first. However, due to new variants of the virus, those at greatest risk can now get their second around eight weeks after their first to ensure they get maximum protection earlier.
Those affected who already have second dose appointments scheduled in before or on 24 May should keep to these appointments. However, if you are due to have your second dose on or after 25 May and are within the top nine priority groups, the NHS will contact you with information on how you can book an earlier appointment.
If you are not within the 1–9 priority groups, you will continue to receive your second vaccine within 12 weeks.Exciting news for Oldham Great news! Oldham Council has successfully bid for £10.7 million to boost the ongoing regeneration of Oldham Town Centre.
