I've stood on the picket line with United Auto Workers for the past couple of weeks, and there's an important development in their fight for fair wages and better working conditions:

General Motors has reversed its decision to cut off health care for the nearly 50,000 workers who went on strike last month.

It goes without saying: Stripping health care from tens of thousands of workers and their families is a cruel and shameful decision -- not to mention an underhanded bargaining tactic. GM is no doubt backtracking because of the grassroots activists who raised their voices and put pressure on the auto company to change course.

It goes to show that our grassroots organization can create change. We have to keep fighting for the Dignity of Work and keep holding corporations accountable for their treatment of workers.

Now, GM must agree to a contract that honors the Dignity of Work with fair wages and better working conditions. We need to keep fighting until that happens.

Are you with me? If so, sign our petition and commit to fighting for the Dignity of Work.
