ACTION ALERT - Taking a stand against RTÉ bias ()

In the past fortnight alone, RTÉ Radio 1 gave pro-abortion advocates 32.06 minutes to push their point of view, and just a meagre 2.09 minutes to the pro-life side to make its case.

To give the appearance of balance, RTÉ will likely invite a pro-life spokesperson to appear on some programme in the near future. But it will change nothing.

RTÉ has absolutely no credibility covering the abortion issue. On a daily basis, they flout their responsibility to act impartially as Ireland’s national broadcasting station. By doing so, they show total contempt for the licence fee paying public.

The most recent offending programmes were Today With Claire Byrne (10.5.21), Sunday with Marian (16.5.21) and Drivetime (18.5.21).

It is impossible to have an honest and reasoned public discussion on abortion with the way RTÉ continues to behave. It’s encouraging though to see RTÉ bias being raised repeatedly in recent weeks by several Oireachtas members. It’s critically important that they continue to do so and that as pro-life volunteers we add our voices to the calls demanding change in RTÉ.

If you haven’t already done so, please sign the instant e-card below asking the Director General of RTÉ to explain and justify expecting pro-life people to continue paying the TV licence given the station’s shockingly biased coverage on abortion.

After you have signed the e-card, SPREAD THE WORD to friends and family to do likewise.

Woman devastated after taking abortion pill: ‘It is actually a baby because I’ve seen it’ ()

In a video released by March for Life UK, a post-abortive woman named Natalia talks about her abortion experience and how she regrets going through with it.

Initially, she and her boyfriend decided to abort the baby but as time passed Natalia became attached to her baby and didn’t want the abortion.

She said: “[I] kind of felt this kind of attachment, this kind of love for my child that I didn’t even know. But at the same time, I didn’t want to get comfortable with the idea, because I knew the baby’s father was so against me having it … It was almost like I was scared to talk and stick up for what I thought.”

Natalia continued to feel pressure to abort her baby and finally took the abortion pills given to her by an abortion facility. She claims the clinic staff never offered to show her an ultrasound of her baby or advise her about any negative after-effects of abortion despite her obvious unease about going through with the abortion.

Natalia says the physical pain of the abortion process was agonising but “in the grand scheme of things, the physical pain is nothing”, she revealed.

The most devastating part of the abortion was seeing her baby in the toilet. She said:
“[I] looked down, and I saw him. It wasn’t like a heavy period. It was like a baby… It’s a child. It’s not like a bit of blood…[I] flushed it. I didn’t know what I was doing. I remember just falling to my knees. Everything gets so blurry. I got into my bedroom. I [was] throwing up again. I’m taking all of these Codeines, but they’re just coming up. And then I just lay in my bed. And I was just bleeding through the mattress. And I just lay there for about three days on my own, not wanting to speak to anyone.”

Natalia now deeply regrets her abortion, saying: “It’s not just a group of cells. It is actually a baby because I’ve seen it. It’s not what they tell you it is. It is a life.”

US Supreme Court agree to hear case that could overturn Roe v. Wade ()

On Monday, the Supreme Court of the United States announced that it will hear the case surrounding Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban known as the “Gestational Age Act,” HB 1510.

The case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, gives the Supreme Court the opportunity to reconsider and possibly overturn Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court ruling that legalised abortion in the United States in 1973.

The case will most likely be heard this coming autumn with a decision expected by the middle of 2022. It is the first case focussed on abortion limits that has come before the Supreme Court since the appointment of three pro-life leaning judges to the Court. The case will determine whether pre-viability restrictions on abortions are constitutional.
