Dear John,
Thank you for joining the fight to end Alzheimer's disease.
Caring for an individual living with Alzheimer's or another dementia poses unique challenges. But dementia care management can help ease these challenges by improving quality of care and reducing costs.
Unfortunately, dementia care management programs are unlikely to develop within the current health care system. That's why I'm asking you to show your support to the bipartisan Comprehensive Care for Alzheimer's Act, which would ask the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) to test a different payment structure for dementia care management.
Dementia care management can ease the challenges often associated with caring for an individual living with dementia, improve quality of care and reduce costs. Americans deserve a path to better dementia care. The bipartisan Comprehensive Care for Alzheimer's Act has the potential to streamline today's complicated health care maze for people living with dementia and for their caregivers. The areas of focus for dementia care management include:
- Care Coordination
- Health System Navigation
- Caregiver Education, Training and Support
- Medication Review and Management
All of these will result in a better care path.

Please help us urge Congress to build a better path to dementia care!
It's simple. We've even provided sample language for you to use. But hurry — it's important to act now in support of the 11 million family caregivers in the United States. They deserve our help.
Please join with me,
John Funderburk
