Dear John,

Earlier this week, the Supreme Court announced it will hear Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, a case challenging Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban—and a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade.

And within days, Texas Republicans passed a near-complete abortion ban into law.

I have spent the last decade in the Senate championing abortion rights and reproductive health care. And I’ve never—never—been more concerned about the future of Roe v. Wade.

I know it’s late, but I asked my team to put together a petition calling on Congress to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act. This legislation would prohibit state laws that ban abortions or create road blocks to access. Simply put, it’s our best way to fight the restrictive anti-choice bills sweeping states across the country.

Please, take a moment to sign my petition. I would like to reach at least 15,000 signatures tonight to make it crystal clear that we won’t stand by while anti-choice politicians chip away at reproductive freedom.

Now is not the time to despair. It’s time to fight with everything we have.

Sincerely,

Kirsten
